#1 – listening
OK so last weeks class was, completely different to what i thought it would be.
but then again i had no idea what to expect.
The discussion was good, although I put in no input probably due to nervousness but just listening was really interesting. and everything was said had a question which was good, cause then I really thought about things.
Im still not too sure what my opinion is on the whole whats music, sound and noise.
but then the leads and speakers and that mixer….that was fun. a whole load of leads and stuff. but then figuring it all out and seeing how it works was really interesting. although im not too sure if i would know how to work the actual mixer and its buttons again, im sure i can find someone who knows to go through it with me another time.
ive been listening to a few cds..
1)James Tenney : Melody, ergodicity and indeterminacy
this i quite enjoyed, he used computers with string instruments. although i found it quite boring as it went on I maybe just dont understand it enough yet to understand it.
2) Morton Subotnick : The Electronic Works 1
this guy just looks so kool! I really like Gestures.
3) Alejandro Vinao : Hildegard’s Dream
quite scary.
